Things to do

Ceriana
In December 2024, Ceriana was added to the list of "The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy."
The village is bursting with an authentic, rural atmosphere and full of typical Ligurian charm: narrow alleys, tall stone houses, and beautiful arches connecting the buildings. The cozy terraces and eateries ensure you’ll never be bored here!

Natural Swimming Pool
A pool has been created in the river that flows past the village. The cold river water offers a refreshing break in summer. Whether you want to stand under the mini waterfall, swim in the deep end, or splash around in the shallow pool, there’s something for everyone.

Gelato
For truly delicious homemade ice cream, head to Bar Gelateria Pellegrin. This family business has been a household name in Ceriana for generations. The family photos on the wall show you how the gelato used to be made and sold.

Sun, Sea & Beach
The beach of Bussana is a 20-minute drive away. There are several beach bars where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas for reasonable prices, but there's also a free beach where you can set up your own umbrella and towel. Parking is always available right at the entrance—searching for a spot is rarely needed. We pride ourselves on our adaptability and commitment to excellence in every aspect of our service. Explore what we have to offer and how we can contribute to your success.

Groceries
The village has three alimentari for your daily shopping, as well as a pharmacy and a tobacconist. Da Bernadetta and Da Giovanna e Angelo are also butchers, where you can buy the village specialty: Salsiccia di Ceriana. At Martini Edilizia, you’ll find the finest local olive oil. A few days a week, Passo del Bosco is also open, selling cheese and cured meats made on their goat farm.

Food & Drink
The best coffee is served at Bar Rina, which is also a great spot for an aperitivo. Star Pub is always lively. On the Piazza, you’ll find homemade pastries and pizza.
In addition to the pizzeria on the square, Ceriana has two more restaurants: Entufurnu and Vecchia Fattoria.

Monte Ceppo
Monte Ceppo, standing at 1,627 meters, is part of the Ligurian Alps. Adventurous hikers can take the T2 hiking trail all the way to the summit, but even less experienced walkers can make it to the top at their own pace.
Monte Ceppo is a 35-minute drive from La Casa di Leo, and on a clear day, you can see Corsica!

Festivals
Several festivals are organized during the summer, but the most famous is the Sagra della Salsiccia—where the four brotherhoods each prepare the local sausage in their own unique way. The entire village and surrounding area come together for performances, long tables filled with wine, and plenty of sausage.

Bajardo
At 900 meters above sea level, Bajardo is the highest place for olive cultivation in Europe. In addition to olives, the village also produces wine grapes, eucalyptus, and lavender. With a rich history, Bajardo is a favorite among cyclists and hikers. Its small summer market is charming, and you can enjoy a fantastic meal at Osteria Au Casun, which offers stunning views of Monte Ceppo.

Bussana Vecchia
In 1887, Bussana Vecchia became a ghost town after a devastating earthquake.
In the 1960s, artists discovered the abandoned village and began reviving it. They renovated the less damaged buildings, moved in, and created a thriving community of national and international artists.

Cycling from Ospedaletti to Imperia
Bike along the old railway line from Ospedaletti to Imperia. Along the way, you can take a refreshing dip in the sea or stop at one of the beach bars for a snack. Bicycles can be rented along the route.

Ride the Poggio
The world-famous Poggio, part of the Milan-Sanremo cycling classic, is just around the corner. Hop on your racing bike and take on the challenge!

Hiking
The area around Ceriana is perfect for hiking. The trail to Chiesa San Giovanni is 5.3 km long, leading you through the forest to the charming Church of San Giovanni Battista. The path provides pleasant shade in the summer, and in autumn, you can even collect chestnuts along the way.
